Miss Caroline is a victim as she was an outsider, thus having limited knowledge on the family backgrounds of her students. She offered Walter Cunningham a quarter out of care and concern, but was offended by Scout when Scout viewed her intentions a way to shame the Cunninghams. Miss Caroline had no prior knowledge that the Cunninghams were poor, and was just trying to help, but received harsh statements from Scout. She was utterly wronged.
Miss Caroline implemented the ridiculous learning methods as she strongly believed that standardised learning was effective for the students, and that they would be able to learn better that way. She did not harbour any ill intentions, but really meant well for her students.
