Is Miss Caroline a victim or villain?
I think Miss Caroline is a victim as she scolded for something that she did not expect or want to happen. Miss Caroline was scolded by the sixth grade teacher as the class was making a racket out of laughing. After the lunch bell rang, Scout saw Miss Caroline sink down into her chair and bury her head in her arms. scout thought that if Miss Caroline had been more friendly towards her, Scout would have felt sorry for her.
Miss Caroline was unaware of the beliefs and education methods, so when Scout explained to her that she would be shaming Wakter Cunningham if she gave him money. She thought Socut was being rude and she said she had enough of Scout and whacked her with a ruler. The class laughed when Scout was whacked and caused a racket which distracted the sixth grade class. The sixth grade teacher scolded Miss Caroline as the class was too noisy. When Miss Caroline sunk down in her chair and buried her head in her arms, it shows that she did not expect the class to cause a racket and her to get blamed for it. Scout would have felt sorry for her had she been more friendly towards her, which shows that Scout believed Miss Caroline did not deserve to be scolded by the sixth grade teacher.
Thus, Miss Caroline was scolded for something she did not expect or want to happen when she was punishing a student, which shows she was a victim of being blamed for something she did not want or expect to happen.
